1) What's the weather like where you are right now?

Hot, naturally, during a Floridian summertime.

2) Has your weather been seasonally appropriate lately, or has it been unusual?

I haven't noticed anything unusual for FL, but I was vacationing in Philly a while ago, and it was definitely hotter than normal. My relatives there noted that, so it wasn't just me.

3) Have you noticed any trends in the weather near you over the past few years?

Hotter summers and colder winters. I barely see red or orange leaves during fall, and don't really notice spring....

4) Are you worried about climate change?

Absolutely! And I wish politicians would do more to fight against it.

5) Are you doing anything to combat climate change?

I'm not perfect by any means, and I don't always do it intentionally, but in some ways!
  • been vegetarian for a few years now
  • use bamboo toothbrushes for brushing my teeth and bar soaps (rather than the liquid kind) for showering (and also turn off the water when I'm scrubbing soap on and turn it back on to rinse off)
  • use a reusable water bottle for the most part (occasionally making some exceptions for certain times)
  • recycle and also be mindful of what I buy
(Honestly, some of these are things I do to save money too lol....)

Like I said, I'm not perfect and am not always acting as sustainable as I could, but I'm not gonna break my back doing it, and I don't think the average person should either. That said, I hate when people who can try to defend why they shouldn't bother. The onus isn't on the average person, but we could still help, especially by not giving money to companies causing the most harm. (Though, of course, I don't want to force anyone to do anything either.)

First, [community profile] thefridayfive! Time to expose myself~

1) What's the most cluttered spot in your home?

My bedroom lmao.

2) What's your method for decluttering?

Choosing a small area and then picking stuff in a specific order (ex. picking up any scattered papers, then stuff like clothes and going from there). Also taking breaks if I have to.

3) What are your favorite cleaning products?

I don't always use them, but when dealing with dusty areas, I prefer wearing gloves. For dishes, Mrs. Meyer's soaps!

4) What helps get you motivated to clean up?

Listening to music or videos on youtube (short comedy sketches, commentary channels, or video essays lately). Also the thought of having a clearer area, and more space to actually decorate a room however I like.

5) What's the most organized spot in your home?

Kitchen and bathroom, thankfully.

From this week's [community profile] thefridayfive

1. What is the last book you read and what book(s), if any, are you currently reading?

I'm ashamed to admit this, but it's been a long time since I've actually read a new book. And I love reading! I really should go visit our library. There's plenty I'm interested in reading, like the Locked Tomb series. As for the last book I've read, just rereading old ya novels I read back in high school. Oh, Julie Ann Peters....

2. How about moving pictures? Are you a fan of any TV show or movie right now?

Yep, a bunch of them! For movies, my recent favorites have been the Ghibli films I've seen (about 2/3 of the collection), Pixar's Turning Red , both vols of Kill Bill, the Austin Powers trilogy, Heathers, Clueless, and more.

The last show I've watched was Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! It was quite interesting. Love the character designs, very unique and diverse, also I was so surprised when I heard Asakusa's voice for the first time. Her voice's on the deeper end, like a stereotypical shonen protagonist, I LOVE IT. And I related to her and Mizusaki's characters in quite a few ways.

3. What's your favorite genre, and why?

Human relation stories (be they romantic, familial, friendship, etc), comedies, action/adventure, musicals. Honestly, I think I'm fine with any genre, I can't think of any I'd exclude except maybe like, torture porn or something. (I did just watch American Psycho last night, but I don't it counts.) Anything that can entertain me and/or make me think.

4. If we were all evacuating the planet, and you could only bring 3 unique works of entertainment for posterity, which would you pick? Let's just assume that we've coordinated it so there are no repeats.

Aw man...broadly speaking, I'd pick
  • a drama or more serious media property
  • a comedy
  • a banging or boppin' music album
5. Do you make new works as well (fannish or original both count)? Or is that not your skillset/interest?

Not very recently. :( I used to have so many ideas for both but lately, it's hard. I haven't been as involved in fandom as I used to beyond passively looking at fanart or pretty gifs or reading discussions other people had. Though I do have some ideas for original stories....
